One moment we’re applauding a son for a school achievement, the next cajoling a 7 year old to take much needed antibiotics. I’d quickly gone from joy to feeling very stressed! So much so that the following success of him taking the medicine bringing relief and garnered even more applause.
Life certainly has its ups and downs. Highs and lows. It is so easy to oscillate between sadness and joy, worry and peace. Our days can flux between good and bad.
As we start our journey of advent, I am reminded that God meets us wherever we are at. No matter what our day is throwing at us, He is there.
When Jesus was born, Shepherds and Innkeepers were at work. So many people going about their normal days. And what started as an ordinary day like every other, heralded the arrival of the son of God and for some seeing the newborn Jesus.
I like that. Everyday is an opportunity to encounter God. Even during the ordinary, the work and the messiness of life. exactly as when He appeared on earth.
O come, o come Emmanuel…
Well Pips you always touch that spot in the heart between hope and disappointment and the challenge of taking antibiotics at even 78yrs old 😄. But like you I always listen for the familiar voice of our Lord confirming His ‘always with me presence’. 🙏🏻
Yes always with us! Hope you are having n the mend!!!!
