This is what Church looked like for Oscar and I tonight. Out in the foyer taking fun selfies and playing quiet games on the floor with glow sticks. When you have a child with sensory needs sometimes things don’t plan out as expected or hoped. An unexpected take on my Christmas service.
But being amongst the unexpected is where God excels.
Unexpected to be born in a stable. Unexpected to socialise amongst the fringes of society. Unexpected for so much of His life and ministry here on earth.
So if this Christmas finds you in an unexpected place and not what you planned or hoped for, know that God is there with you, present. As much as He was with me and my little chap in the foyer as with those singing carols in the church, He is there with you too.
