The Bible is full of stories of extraordinary acts of courage, of achievement, of leadership. People who stepped out of obscurity to become heroes of the faith. Esther, Elijah, David, Gideon…Some may only grace the Bible for mere sentences but leave an indelible impression of their bravery and obedience to God.
How often we long to be like them and like as it is in Daniel to do great exploits for God.
But what the Bible doesn’t show is that alongside these heroes of the Faith are the thousands and thousands of people living their ordinary life in their part of the world devoted and honouring to God. They may not have had their name mentioned in the Bible, but they were seen by God nonetheless.
They may have been part of the 5000, fed from the loaves and fishes of a little boy’s lunch. They may been in the crowd listening to Jesus, their life forever changed. They may have become believers through the teachings of the disciples. Living out their lives following Christ.
For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
2 Chronicles 16:9
It all matters. The small and the big acts of faithfulness.
We are all seen.
We are all loved.
