(Spoiler alert – Dad is ok and now home from hospital)
I’ve seen this view several times recently while my father had an operation in hospital. In many ways, with the exception of the lighting due to the time of day or the weather outside it has been an unchanging constant. Looking out into the same buildings. But my journey to this view has not.
There was a before, before Dad went into his operation. The apprehension and worries present. Myriad of emotions really. Then there was the after. After the successful operation. The relief, the exhale. And then later after the discharge. Time to celebrate!
This view though has remained unchanged over this time. Same outlook across the same buildings.
It reminded me of how even though our circumstances may change, God does not. He is the constant. The very present, ever stable presence in our lives. Always good. Always loving.
But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
