Emmanuel – God with us.
It was a promise, a prophecy, foretold by Isaiah that God would be with us.
The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Emmanuel” (Isaiah 7:14).
Advent reminds us that it is a promise fulfilled. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary and came to dwell among us – to walk where we walk, and to share in our humanity. His birth as a baby in Bethlehem was just the beginning. Through His death and resurrection, He secured our salvation and fulfilled the promise that God would always be with us.
The message of Emmanuel is not confined to the past. It is a living reality today. In every moment—through the highs and lows, the extraordinary and the ordinary—God is with us.
He is with us in the waiting rooms, in the stillness of the night, during the work commute or the school run. He is present as we gather around the dinner table or sit at our office desks. He’s with us in the joy and in the hard.
YOUR PEACE AND JOY DON’T COME FROM YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES. THEY COME FROM THE FACT THAT GOD IS WITH YOU. HE IS THE SOURCE OF YOUR STRENGTH AND PEACE.
