As Advent draws to a close, our focus turns to the celebration of Christmas and the birth of Jesus. Yet, Advent also reminds us that the waiting is not over. We live in the tension of what has already come—God’s love revealed in Christ—and what is still to come: the fulfillment of His promises in Jesus’ second coming.
Everything we need is found in the person of Jesus. He is our peace, for He is the Prince of Peace. He is our love, for He is Love itself. The weary, searching soul can find rest in Him. The broken-hearted can find healing.
This Advent, may our souls awaken to His presence. To find all we need in Him.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
Let us carry this truth into Christmas, celebrating the gift of Jesus and the hope He brings.
