Enough

The week had been one of those where emotions hit harder than usual: deflated, overwhelmed, stressed, and sad…It was heavy after the back to school meetings with his OT and his teacher. Once again, I found myself in the position of letting go of some of the dreams and hopes I had for him – even the little ones. And, once again, I was confronted with an overwhelming picture of the future.

I’m sure most of us have been there at some point. When the outlook is bleak and to see God’s goodness seemingly impossible. Fear, defeat seem to slip into our thoughts effortlessly, tipping the scale toward the negative. It’s hard to imagine how we’ll get through, let alone find peace and joy.

And yet he was so excited to return to school. A happy day. Reminding me of how hope and joy shine through the darkness. That even in the midst of uncertainty and the hard, there are moments of goodness.

And today the sun shone and the coffee was good! The week finished with a beautiful rainbow on display after an early morning drop off. Little blessings that remind us that God’s presence is still with us, even when the bigger picture seems overwhelming.

It says in Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

It’s a beautiful reminder that peace isn’t dependent on circumstances but on where we choose to focus our thoughts. When we keep our minds fixed on God, when we choose to trust Him, He promises peace that transcends the challenges we face. It’s a peace that isn’t about avoiding difficulty, but about finding His presence even in the midst of it.

Sometimes, faith isn’t about grand gestures or mountain-moving moments. Sometimes, faith looks like getting through today, one step at a time, and finding God’s faithfulness there in the small victories. It’s about recognizing that even in the struggle, His peace is available to us. And even though the future may still seem daunting, today we can find peace in the now.

Faith doesn’t always look the way we expect. It doesn’t always bring immediate solutions or answers, sometimes it’s more gritty determination to keep going. But it does bring the assurance that God is with us—every step of the way.

And that’s enough.
