Last week it was our School Swimming Sports. I joined other parents on the bleachers as we cheered our kids on. As each heat raced, everyone cheered the winners, the brave, the trying very hard, the fast ones and the last ones. We cheered, applauded and celebrated their victories. I rejoiced with my sons as they celebrated their successes.
As I sat on the bleachers, amongst a supportive crowd, there for the purpose of witnessing their children swim and to cheer them on, I thought of another crowd of witnesses. This crowd is cheering us on. This crowd is watching us run our race for God and cheering us, willing us on. They’re celebrating our victories and willing us to cross the finish line
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us (Hebrews 12:1)
So hang in there. Your race – your life matters. Go for it! Be brave and do your best.
Oh I love it! What a fantastic picture. I’ve often thought of that passage & been rather unmoved by it, once.
This, however, ignites my imagination.
Thank you so much 🙂

Had to share this wonderful imagery of this post. May it encourage you as it encouraged me.
OH bless! You are such an encouragement! That means I was able to convey the thoughts I had while watching the races! 🙂
We can’t hear the crowd in Heaven cheering, but we can hear words of encouragement from humans when we want to give up. This urges me to intentionally do that for others around me. Thanks.
So true! Encouragement is so important! Thanks for reading and commenting!
