It’s inevitable really, that after the stormy weather, I’m writing a rain inspired post! The last few days quite a deluge has hit Auckland. There have been floods, power cuts, storm damage. Fortunately our house was unscathed, apart from the rather large puddle situated outside our front door.
We can all have days or seasons in life when it feels like we’ve been a bit battered, or we’ve gone through a storm. It can be just the busyness of life, the unrelenting schedule we find ourselves on, or the challenges of health or work that have presented themselves. Whatever the reason, sometimes we’re just doing it tough.
But it’s during these unsettled or even turbulent times that we can be assured that God is in control. The storm may show its teeth and may seem to rock our world, but with God we can be at peace. We can find rest. It’s about looking at our circumstances with faith not with fear or even logic. It’s including God in the equation.
As it is, I love going to sleep to the sound of rain.
That is so true! – Storms come, but Jesus always calms them for us. – The aftermath of the storms gives us the peace and tranquility that we need xx
