A dandelion wafted past me today. A fleeting, fragile thing, buffeted by a simple summer breeze. Sometimes we think of Hope in the same way – gentle, fragile, slight.
But Hope is more than a dandelion floating in the breeze. It is strong. Robust.
Hope keeps us going. It is strength. It’s Samwise Gamgee in The Lord of the Rings planning his rations for the journey home to the shire even as he heads into Mordor.
And we have a hope that is not in people or things. But in God.
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
Hebrews 6:19
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13
May hope keep your heart strong.
