But if you get lost as you’re tossed in the dark of the sea
Look for me
My love is a lighthouse…
Look for the light
From Only murders in the building
Yes, it’s lyrics of a song written for a TV series. A lullaby as part of a theatrical production in the Show’s story.
The lyrics speak of guardianship, motherhood, love and protection. But it captivated me on a deeper level than just the one intended. A love, a light that goes beyond our human capabilities – a light that shines through the darkest storms – Jesus.
When we are being tossed in the dark of sea – look for the Light.
When the waves and the storm seem overwhelming, never ending and consuming – look for the Light.
When the hardships and trials of life obscure our vision of the shore and take us further from safety – look for the Light.
Look for the love of God. The love that will see us through.
Look for the Light, the one who shines His light to lead us through the storms of life. The one who brings His peace to us, no matter the ferocity of the waves crashing around us.
Look to Jesus – the one who will bring us safe to shore.
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John 8:12
