The Red Thread

There is an old naval tradition that a red thread was woven through every rope of the British Royal Navy. No matter where the rope travelled or how it was cut, that red strand remained visible – an unmistakable mark of belonging to the Crown.

A single thread, running through every fibre. Constant. Impossible to remove without unravelling the whole.

What a beautiful picture of our lives in Christ.

Through seasons of joy and sorrow, certainty and confusion, triumph and heartbreak, Jesus is our red thread. Sometimes we see Him clearly – in answered prayers, in unexpected blessings. The red thread shines brightly in these times. But it is often in the darker seasons that we discover just how deeply He is woven into our story. When the waters rise. When the diagnosis comes. When dreams collapse. Jesus is there. Present. With us.

He is our red thread – through every storm and in every blessing. With us when life makes sense, and with us when it does not.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.

Psalm 23:4
