Marianne Williamson wrote this “We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of GOD. Your playing small does not serve the World. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won’t feel unsure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of GOD that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. As we let our own Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
The best way to let the light of glory shine through us is to be us! He made you the way you are for a reason. There is nobody on the face of the earth like you! God knew you before you were born and is excited about you being on this earth! Before you were born, God knew exactly what He was doing with you. Whether you’re quiet or loud, tall or short, blonde or brunette, sanguine or melancholy, He had a plan for who you are!
So CELEBRATE who you are!
It is no mistake that you are living right now with your own set of circumstances, dealing with your set of issues, working within your personalised set of skills and abilities. God has made you and has placed you here on purpose. You are involved in a divinely designed eternally significant plan. It is by design you’re here – in that position, facing that project, married to that man, involved in that friendship, living in that neighbourhood, participating in that activity, mothering those children, living this life! You were chosen by God because He sees and knows that you are uniquely suited equipped and capable of carrying out His plans!
God loves you dearly. He wants the world to experience you, your uniqueness, your gifts your talents, and your abilities. Someone, somewhere needs you! You are the answer to someone’s prayer, a dream come true, in all your uniqueness you’re needed to step up to the plate of your calling. Embrace your special role.
You are EXTRAORDINARILY SIGNIFICANT!
Even if you may not be inherently pleased with the person He’s made you to be, even if you may not be abundantly happy with the circumstances you’re currently living you can be sure that God has planted you here with design and intention.
Resolve to love being you – the way He loved creating you!

Seriously, I have always struggled with low self-esteem and self-loathing. People have often quoted scriptures to me about how God loves me just the way I am but I have still struggled to believe it, inspite of being a Christian for over 30 years.
Due to recent personal circumstances, this battle with self has been heightened.
I read this post and it was like God was speaking directly to me. I could cry buckets.
But even as I read, there’s a part of me saying “you’ll stop believing this in a day or two”. I don’t want to. I want to hang on to what God has said through this post. I love the paragraph where you start by saying “It’s no mistake…” because suddenly there is reason, there is hope.

Oh bless! And do! I have a page in my journal of some good truths that I reread when I feel myself going down a bad path which I do. And it is always a struggle when most of our internal chatter to ourselves is negative and we somehow have to override it. Funnily enough one of the things that helped me about this was a dr Seuss poem…happy birthday to you…weird eh! Blessings, you are a lovely encouragement and your blog shows much strength and beauty!
