I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but shops have exploded with all things Easter and Chocolate in the last week. Easter Eggs abound, as do Happy Easter banners and decorations. All celebrating Easter. Resurrection Sunday is coming. But so is Good Friday.
Before there could be an Easter Sunday, there had to be a Good Friday.
Before there could be a Resurrection, there had to be a Death.
Before the Forgiveness came the sin.
Before the Reconciliation came the separation.
Before the Light came the darkness
So, this side of Easter, I pause to remember that sin kept me in darkness and separated from God. And that I can come through into light and reconciliation through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
