As a kid, I used to love “Choose your own adventure” books. I loved being given the choice as to what I would do in the book I was reading. I must confess that sometimes though I would read 2 or more choices simultaneously as I was eager to find out where the different options took me! On reflection, I just might have been a tad indecisive!
Bible Reading is a bit like that for me. I start with my reading plan, but then can’t help going down tangents as a word or a verse will trigger me to look at the cross references and to see what they say. I may start out reading Isaiah but often find myself finishing up in the Gospels via the Book of Revelation. I love the freedom to see which way my heart goes and where the Spirit leads me!
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. (Proverbs 25:2)
The Bible is the best choose your own adventure book ever written!
