Sometimes in worship, a song can completely undo you. It’s as if the quiet and secret meditations of your heart are articulated, transformed into music and song. Suddenly you find youself singing words that match your heartbeat and you feel the breath of Heaven, the touch of God upon you. The King of my Heart was just that to me. Amongst a chorus of people worshiping I could take the fragmented parts of my heart and offer them in worship to God. I could declare that God – King of my Heart is the wind inside my sails and the anchor in my waves.
Let the King of my heart
Be the mountain where I run
The fountain I drink from
Oh, He is my song
Let the King of my heart
Be the shadow where I hide
The ransom for my life
Oh, He is my song
You are good, good, oh
You are good, good, oh
Let the King of my heart
Be the wind inside my sails
The anchor in the waves
Oh, He is my song
Let the King of my heart
Be the fire inside my veins
The echo of my days
Oh, He is my song
You’re never gonna let
Never gonna let me down
When the night is holding on to me
God is holding on
