It might be a line out of a Christmas carol, but in these weird times we find ourselves in, it’s good advice. To let our heart be light means making a choice. 2020 has had a lot of hardship, sacrifice and challenges. Things that certainly add weight to our hearts. The worries of COVID-19, of the future can be heavy.
Yet God encourages us to keep a light heart. And despite all that is going on, we can. It is our choice, everyday and with everything we face. Our heart is kept light when we accepting God’s invitation to give Him our cares and worries. To take our burdens to Him.
So here’s what I’ve learned through it all:
Psalm 55:22
Leave all your cares and anxieties at the feet of the Lord,
and measureless grace will strengthen you.
“Do not LET your hearts be troubled, neither LET it be afraid.”
John 14:27
Choose peace. Choose joy. Choose love.
Let your heart be light.
Amen. I totally agree.
