It had been one of “those” mornings. One child frantically finishing a forgotten assignment and needing help to do so, a work crisis unfolding in New York meaning a rapidly shrinking window of time to resolve. Not to mention Oscar in tears in the car after two turnarounds to home to retrieve kindy bag left in the haste to get out the door and then to collect his glasses. And while Oscar quickly regained his equilibrium as we jammed to baby shark, needless to say, once all the kids were at school and kindy, it was a big exhale from their mum and picking up a large coffee!
As I drove home random tunes continued to play from my phone after baby shark had completed ALL its variations. It jumped to a U2 track and from there to Kristene DiMarco’s “Eyes on you.”
I took a moment and stayed in my car in the drive with my coffee, letting the words wash over me. Turned out it was just what my spirit needed to return equilibrium to my day.

No matter what you face in your day (laughter, pain or a frantic morning!), keeping our eyes on Jesus is the best advice. He is the only answer. When our hearts are in chaos, He brings us a clear mind and a calm spirit.
