Sliding Doors

My new Managing Director, in introducing herself to our organisation, spoke of sliding door moments. Those times when you make a decision, take an opportunity, one that becomes a defining moment in our lives.

Sometimes these doors present themselves in an obvious way. Couched by a strong leading from the Lord that this is the path to walk on. Other times you can find yourself standing in front of a door with no clear indication that this is the one to step through.

These are the times that we must lean on our faith and trust in God.

It’s not easy, but yet how many heroes of the faith have stepped out into the unknown, away from the familiar, without a roadmap detailing duration and direction?

A simple yes and stepping across the threshold was all that was required.

By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went out to a place he was going to receive as an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he was going.

Hebrews 11:8

A step of faith means that you understand that God only gives you enough information to see right in front of you and He often times conceals the details about the journey along the way.” (The Beat by Allen Parr, What Does it Mean to Step Out in Faith?).

Stepping out in faith is only possible because God is faithful. We can step through the doors.
