Just another casual conversation about the future. About change. About the years ahead – even now beginning to look towards Oscar at college.
Yet in that moment, I felt like I was standing on shifting sand. I could almost feel the ground ebb away and shift beneath my feet. Just a little.
The ocean is close.
So I snapped a photo of my feet – walking out of school. It felt important to remind myself that I’m on solid ground. I’m still walking.

Because while don’t know what the future holds, I know who holds the future.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding… and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Maybe that’s what faith looks like – stepping forward when the ground feels uncertain, trusting that underneath it all, He is my solid ground.
“Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders…”
Oceans / Hillsong
The sands may shift. But I am not on the sand, I am on solid ground. And solid ground is holy ground.
Even when I feel the uncertainty of what lies ahead, I can trust that where He leads me, He will meet me.
I can trust Him with where my feet are going next.
