Heading onto the motorway the other day a Billboard advertising Health Insurance grabbed me – “With. A little word that means so much.” Other advertisements for the same company say “Just knowing someone’s with you can mean everything.” And they’re right. This small word, “with”, encompasses so much. It conveys support and comfort. It means not alone. It means alongside, together.
How powerful then is this promise of “with” from God, Himself, for us?
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” (Psalm 23:4)
God is with you.
God is for you.
Never alone. No matter whether we are on mountain top or in the darkest valley, He is there with us.
With – small but means so much.
Thank you for this beautiful post. I truly appreciate the scriptures you posted. This Covid has stressed me so much – it seems to be getting closer to home. I know God is always with us, but I needed this reminder.
