The title of the email was very unlike the rest of the work emails coming in that day – “Speak out your thankfulness.” An opportunity to thank someone in the organisation who has shown you support or you appreciate.
The statement stuck with me long after I taken up the chance to thank someone. I was challenged to take up the call in my everyday. To speak out my thankfulness to God. It’s so easy during a busy day, week or even season to be overwhelmed with all the tasks and activities in front of us, to see the pressures and what needs working on than to take time to see or to speak out our gratitude for what God is doing in our lives. To thank Him for the little blessings across our day to notice and to speak out, to proclaim thank you.
Theres something powerful when we create an atmosphere of gratitude in our lives. When we do this it ushers in God’s presence. And when God is present, fear, doubt and negativity flee. Hope arises. Gratitude brings peace and joy.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name
Psalm 100:4
Above all, the more we proclaim thankfulness to God, the more we magnify Him in our lives. And when you are facing a mountain, having an awareness of the bigness of God makes a difference.
I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify Him with thanksgiving.
Psalm 69:30
